Our History

In 1968 Joseph and Theresa Orlandi started selling corn on the cob, in a homemade wooden shack at the Big E. They spent a handful of years at the Big E, making friends and learning the concession business. In the Mid 70’s, they were ready to take the show on the road – they changed the menu, built a mobile concession trailer, and Poppies Fresh Onion Rings was born.

At this point, Joe was all in. He started participating in local fairs and festivals and growing the business. 55 years, and three generations later, Poppies Concessions is still growing!
Our menu now covers all the classics, and some of the latest and greatest carnival treats.

Although Joeseph is not with us anymore, Theresa and the family work hard to keep his memory alive, and the business moving forward.
